Reflection for Your Happiness

As the year comes to an end, it’s a good time to look back and reflect. Think about all the aspects of your life that have brought joy and learning to your life. Reflection for your happiness is essential. Let me share with you ways to get the most out of your personal reflections.

I often take time out of my work week to look back over my meeting notes and think about the actions I need to take to be productive business woman in the future. I think back on the conversations I have had with my husband and do my best to implement actions to improve our marriage. I look back on the joy I find in my book club or the excitement I get when I plan a meeting with friends.

But I don’t always look back on my own happiness levels. This year I want to be better. I want to change to be sure I’m keeping my own happiness in check.

Reflection for Your Happiness

Reflection time is personal. Some people find quiet disturbing and would rather take time to reflect in the bustle of a busy coffee shop. Others might find their home the most comforting place to relax and think back. Whatever it is for you, the first step to reflection is finding a comfortable place to reflect.

As we are all so busy in life, it’s important to take time to reflect on your own happiness. Often we put ourselves last on the list to take care of, but you can only be the best you if you take care of your own needs as well. Make time to reflect, even if for 20 minutes a week.

Look back on all aspects of your life. Don’t look over those difficult conversations or your feelings of anger or sadness. This is a time for you to work through to find your happiness.

Take action if needed. A lot of times, I can work through to my own happiness just by writing down my thoughts and problems. But often, there is action that needs to be done. I may need to apologize for a situation or comfort someone with my own feelings of hurt. This is so hard to do, but you will find a peace and happiness like never before when you take action!

  1. My favourite line: “Don’t look over those difficult conversations or your feelings of anger or sadness. This is a time for you to work through to find your happiness.”

I’m a person that will get into an argument with my significant other and then spend the rest of the day thinking about how I wasted an hour being mad at him, and that turns into ruining our whole day! I have a hard time letting go, I like to dwell on things, and that keeps me from happiness.
