When it comes to my health, I always try to make it a top priority. But, you know how life gets- it’s hectic, and there’s always something going on. Even when you’re on a 2 week roll of eating healthy and consistently working out, it can all collapse at any moment. However, we all go through our own journeys to lose a little weight and follow through with a healthier lifestyle. But one thing I’ve learned, is that perserverance pays off when trying to lose weight.
Perseverance Pays Off When Trying to Lose Weight
It’s taken me a year to lose 12 pounds. Some people may call that a lazy diet, but I’m such a workaholic that it’s tough getting those extra hours in to spend on my body. So, instead, I decided to change my eating habits as well. I would still like to tone up even more – but at least I can see that my efforts are paying off! And, I’ve learned how to take a breather during work to walk around and get my heart pumping.
Although I only lost 12 pounds, I can proudly say that changing my diet was a phenomenal turnout. I stopped drinking soda, but still have it as a treat when I go out to the movies. I grow my own vegetables, fruits, and raise healthy chickens. I cook healthy meals for my family. Having these resources really changed the way I eat, and I’m really glad I stuck with it.
Without the perseverance for those 12 months, I think I’d still just be sitting in my office not being so healthy. So, as I reflect, a few good things came out of this journey. As much as I want my beach body back like the old days, eating healthy is a big part in my transformation.
As I continue to reach my goals in fitness, my greatest advice is believe in yourself, get through the first few hurdles, and you’ll be on a roll! If you need more motivation, try workouts with a friend, or a family member where you guys can support each other throughout.
