Her company sells journals, calendars, notebooks and other paper items that she has designed. Her personality shows through her work and how she communicates in her blog posts and social media. But it goes much deeper for her.
“Happiness is being comfortable in our skin.”
She loves to connect with her readership and customers. Emily cares about being uplifting and encouraging to everyone around her. And what is so fantastic about her is that she is real. She is transparent and she shows how her life isn’t perfect, but how life provides all the happiness the world has to give her.
For example, she tells us that she needs to cull her closet, come up with a doable skin-care routine and to take better care of her body because she know that happiness is being healthy, looking your best and “feeling comfortable in our skin.”

What Makes Emily Ley So Unique?
Have Goals: A Must-Do to Find Happiness
“We believe everyday life doesn’t have to be ordinary. We love BIG — really big — and believe joy is truly found in the journey – in the mess, in the change and sometimes in between the sixth and seventh loads of laundry.”
So how does Emily Ley recharge and relax? One thing that is for sure, in reading her blog and book, I can plainly see that having solid goals is a burden-lifter and a must-do to find happiness. Her goals for 2017 are:
- Care for my body, mind, and heart well.
- Move my business forward in a focused, strategic way.
- Save more; give more; spend / acquire less.
- Cultivate a family and home rich in tradition, memories, and love.
She enjoys celebrating family birthdays, watching her boy dance, and she confesses that her weakness are cheese boards with all kinds of cheeses and crudités. But what she appreciates the most is breathing room. Ah! Just like me! She says, “Breathing room is so important, it’s imperative. It’s a life-or-death necessity in a world constantly telling us we’re not doing enough.”

This is the first year I actually sat down and wrote out my goals for the year. Writing them down actually gives me a purpose. There is something about organization that makes me happy. I like to know what I need to do each day in order to feel calm and in control.
