Stonehenge and Salisbury Cathedral

Stonehenge and Salisbury Cathedral

After departing Windsor Castle, we grabbed some yummy sandwiches and sat along the river Thames to eat before heading to Stonehenge. While often considered to be a Wonder of the World, depending on which list you read, we weren’t too sure about Stonehenge – thinking it might be a pile of rocks and a bit of a let down to see in person. But as you can see from afar, it’s pretty amazing.Stonehenge and Salisbury Cathedral are some amazing site visits if you're ever in the UK. Check out my photos from my trip to inspire yours!

Before we started our trek around Stonehenge, Harry took our picture together. As you can see, I’m the only wimp in long sleeves.

The cool thing about the path around Stonehenge is that it’s relatively easy to get a photo without too many other people in the shot due to how they’ve sloped the path. Granted, we don’t think it was a super busy crowd yet. I think one reason we may have enjoyed it more than we had anticipated was that the day was beautiful. The sun was out, it wasn’t too hot, the air was nice away from the city of London. Overall, we were all glad we went.

After Stonehenge, Harry drove us to see Salisbury Cathedral. This next photo was just a random image on our way into Salisbury.

The drive was so beautiful. The fields of yellow against the green and blue were spectacular.

This is Salisbury Cathedral. It has the tallest church spire in the United Kingdom. Another tidbit is that it has the world’s oldest working clock.

We arrived just a few minutes before closing and didn’t get to see the Magna Carta (they house the best surviving of the four original copies). As you can tell the halls were empty which means good photo opportunities!
