Choose Restaurant Light Menu Options

Going out to lunch soon? Keep reading! I love going out to eat, but what I don’t love are the high calories and fat lurking in everything! Luckily, along with the mandatory publishing of nutritional information, many restaurants are offering ‘light’ options, which makes me super happy! Doesn’t it make you happy? If you want to stay healthy and cut half of the fat when eating out, choose restaurant light menu options.

Sometimes they are available on a separate menu but usually they are marked with a symbol within the standard menu. I was recently dining at The Cheesecake Factory and came across their SkinnyLicious menu. Don’t these sound great?… Beets With Goat Cheese, Herb Crusted Salmon, and Petite Grilled Tenderloin of Beef? Well, not only do they sound great, but taste great as well.

The only thing I’d watch out for is salads. Most restaurants often drizzle way too much dressing, which kills the healthy option of having a salad. When in doubt, ask to see the nutritional information, or you can always ask for the dressing on the side to make things easier.

Many restaurants now offer lighter and healthier dishes. Stay healthy and choose restaurant light menu options on your next brunch or dinner!

On your next lunch outing, see if you can spot the light options. Give them a chance; they may surprise you!

  1. I love Applebee’s Pepper-crusted sirloin with whole grains. So yummy! Had it twice when we were travelling and needed to eat 🙂

  2. In California chain restaurants have to post the amount of calories on items on their menus. It’s scary to see some that are over 1000 calories for a sandwich or even a salad. It make you want to only go for ala carte.

  3. I ate one of those SkinnyLicious meals at the Cheesecake Factory and it was great. True about salad dressing at restaurants. I always make my own at home. Just some olive oil and vinegar. Simple is better. Scary when you see those posted calorie counts.
