We all have that little voice in our head, the one responsible for our fight or flight mode.
It sometimes tells us not to do something or to worry about doing something at the very least.
However, did you know that you can push that fearful side away from you and feel awesome all day long?
Our feelings are our guides, our intuition that guides us through our days, nights, and throughout our life.

So, if you want to feel awesome, there are things you can do to hush that negative little voice and have the more positive, vibrant voice come front and center.
How to Feel Awesome All Day Long
Make a Choice
Happiness is a choice.
You can choose to look at the dark side of the situation or you can focus on the opportunity or the lesson that is ready to be learned in your situation.
Sometimes things come into our lives in order to teach us, not to punish us, but to teach us.
You can choose to feel miserable about the one thing that you do not have, whether it is a steady job or a significant other.
Or, you can choose to focus on the fact that you have a beautiful home with healthy children.
For me, I’m grateful to have a beautiful home with my chickens, two small kitties, and my garden.
When you are going down a spiral of negativity, see if there is not something, even just one thing that you can focus on whether it is a past memory or a future hope.
Make a choice to focus on that and to be content in the moment in which you stand.

Focus
For some of us, focus comes a little easier than others.
However, focus is a learned skill.
If you seem to be a “Debbie Downer,” try to incorporate things into your life that make you a bit more cheery.
For example, place beautiful pictures of real-life nature scenes above your office wall.
Instead of looking at a plain white wall, look at pictures of fields of violets or beautiful sunrises.
Focus on the sunrise and you will feel better knowing that each day is a new possibility for anything great to happen.
With a little practice, you can retrain your brain to focus on positive memories and positive thoughts.
Be Grateful
If you really want to feel awesome, be in gratitude every day.
It does not mean that you have to be oblivious to your woes and worries.
It does mean, however, find that one thing every day for which you can be grateful.
- Your health
- The health of your children
- The bills are paid
- You have a job
- You have friends and family
The list goes on and on and can even include something as small as having a garden full of vegetables to be proud of and share.
You can learn how to start and design a garden just like I did a couple of years ago, and it’s changed my perspective on eating clean, and staying healthy, which makes me happy!
Focus on the positive, it will grow.
Make a choice every day to smile and be happy, you will get closer to your goals.

Find something every day for which to be grateful, chances are that you will have that much more for which to be grateful.
So, go out and feel AWESOME all day long.
I would love to hear from you! What is the thing you do each day to make yourself feel awesome all day long?

Great post and so true. You change your thoughts you change your own territory and that passes o to others. Thanks.
Thanks for keeping up with my posts Beth!
So true…happiness is a choice. Counting our blessings is a choice. Today, I found out about the death of a co worker (breast cancer) – I remember how she found joy even through her illness. I will remember her and carry on.
Yes, I agree. Sorry to hear about your co-worker. We have to appreciate every day.
This is so simple and straight forward. Happiness is an interesting choice and so I like how you point out that all you really need is to find something to be grateful for! Great post =]

You had me at the title of the blog! Great reminder that we are in charge of our feelings and our day!
Sometimes it’s hard to shake the blues, but yoga, meditation and a healthy reminder of all the good things in life–the focus you mention–help brighten the day. Thanks for the reminders.
This is what I tell my clients all the time! Happiness is really about thought management.
Makes me happy just reading this. 🙂
Perception of one’s self can also be an issue. I know a couple of Downers who think they are not. To be happy is not my job to show them but I would hope they get real sometime!
I’m doing a series on happiness over August – it’s such an important concept to grasp when it comes to accepting responsibility for our own happiness and not relying on others to make us happy.
I really want to feel good all day long, so I will keep this in mind
