Aruba – Driving Around the Island – Day 2 Part 1: Come see what you’re missing! On day 2, we rented a car and started exploring around the island. Amongst the crystal blue water, and white sandy beaches, we found some other alluring places!
We rented this nice, red jeep, and immediately headed to areas where we were told that the insurance wouldn’t cover the car. As adventurous goers, we were ready to face any obstacles on this island.
Our first stop was the lighthouse at the Northern end of Aruba. The wind blows so hard in Aruba all the time that the clouds move by very very fast. Standing at the bottom of the lighthouse and then looking up almost made you a bit sea-sick since you really felt like you were moving.
There were a few natural bridges along the eastern side of Aruba.
The stacking of rocks could be seen everywhere. Apparently we weren’t the only ones who take their rental cars on the east side!
This is the Old Ruins (again on the east side).
Our morning exploring the island was a good start on day 2. We then move forward to the city. See more of Aruba as we continue Day 2 Part 2.

I’ve been to many islands but never Aruba and the wind is one of the reasons. I hate wind and have wondered if it would make it hard to snorkel or enjoy the beaches. Have you found that or is it mostly just on one side of the island?
Hi Kay – it did seem to be mostly just on one side. We enjoyed the beaches every day we were there.
I had no idea that Aruba was so beautiful! I would love to visit!
