At the end of August our book club, we met to discuss the 2nd in the trilogy by Stieg Larsson, “The Girl Who Played with Fire.” I wasn’t able to make this get together at Kathy’s house, but I had finished the book anyway and I have already read the third book. I really enjoyed the 2nd and 3rd books better than the 1st. Those of you that have tried to get started in this series, you must get past the halfway point in the first book before the plot picks up.
In the 2nd one, the story continues with Lisbeth Salander – who becomes a wanted woman when her prints are found on the murder weapon of a researcher and the Millennium journalist about to expose the truth about the sex trade in Sweden. She can’t believe what the news is saying about her and she goes into hiding until she can sort out who the players are in this complex thriller. Mikael Blomkvist, editor-in-chief of Millennium, believes in her innocence and he simultaneously launches his own investigation.
I thoroughly enjoyed this trilogy. We are set to read the 3rd book in December as part of our book club. If you’ve read the trilogy, what are your thoughts? I’d love to hear them in the comment section below.
