Portland has been a great adventure with good food and exceptional doughnuts! As Cory and I continue to explore, we had to make our way to the famous Portland, Oregon, Powell’s Bookstore. It is the largest independent bookstore in the world, and we can appreciate something like this still in business because we don’t have many left in the Sacramento area.
Exploring cities is one of the things I love to do the most. This time Cory and I took a trip to Oregon for much needed rest and get away to the beautiful city of Portland.
The moment Cory and I walked in, it was unbelievably, crazy large! It takes up an entire city block and is 4 stories tall. When we went in, we stared at the color-coded map. We started at the magazine racks, and soon wandered off ourselves. I didn’t think much of it until after 5 minutes that I didn’t have my cell phone! How on earth would I ever find Cory again?! I almost panicked.Luckily he hadn’t gone far as I raced back up and down the stairs to find him. With so many books surrounding us, we probably spent half the day in here. It didn’t hurt to look and read for a while either. If you’re an avid reader, or just want to explore, be sure to make Powell’s Bookstore one of your destinations when traveling to Portland.
Please share your experience at the Powell’s Bookstore in the comment section below! I’d love to hear from you.
